This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Psychologist to join a specialist service for individuals with learning disabilities and autism in Grimsby. You will be responsible for a range of interventions, assessments, and multidisciplinary work, with the chance to develop your skills and progress your career.
Main duties of the job
As a Practitioner Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working, and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and design and deliver training. Job responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.
As a Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user’s caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.
As a Psychologist you will be:
* Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the service.
* Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
* Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi structured clinical methods.
* Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients’ mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence based best practise.
* Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
* Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Have BPS recognised psychology degrees
* Be HCPC registered
* Have Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications
* Be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division
* Have understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
* Have experience of applying psychological knowledge to a Clinical setting
* Be experienced working with clients with cognitive deficits
* Have previous experience of conducting research and project working

You will work at Bradley Complex Care, a specialist service for men and women living with complex needs who may have a primary diagnosis of learning disability, mental health issue or personality disorder.
You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to support people with complex conditions, needs and risks who display behaviours of concern and pose challenges for services, including those with highly complex and severe challenging behaviour.

Qualifications
* To be successful in this role, you'll need BPS-recognised psychology degrees, HCPC registration, Chartered Psychologist status with appropriate post-graduate qualifications, and experience of applying psychological knowledge in a clinical setting, particularly with clients with cognitive deficits.
