Agricultural Engineer / Mechanic
Salary: £33,050 - £42,000 per annum + Overtime at time and a half (reviewed after 3 month probation)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday (42.5 hours), weekend availability
Location: Mid Devon District
We have an exciting opportunity for an Agricultural Engineer / Mechanic to join a dynamic team in the Mid Devon Area. Due to the continued growth of the business and customer expansion, we are looking for a self-motivated Agricultural Engineer / Mechanic who thrives on independence and is eager to expand his/her technical skills.
The role on offer is varied and will require working within the depot and out in the field. The successful Agricultural Engineer/Mechanic will be involved in supporting customer needs on all types of Agricultural machinery, including fault finding, servicing, and repairs.

Main Duties of Agricultural Engineer / Mechanic:
1. Fault finding and repair mechanical and hydraulic issues in agricultural machinery and equipment.
2. Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and inspection.
3. Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
4. Check and service all machinery at correct intervals.
5. Fabricate parts as needed using a variety of tools and machinery.
6. Keep records of inspections, work performed, and parts used.
7. Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations.
8. Liaise with suppliers to order parts required.
9. Plan and prioritize work to ensure correct machinery is ready when needed.
Qualifications and Experience of Agricultural Engineer / Mechanic:
1. City & Guilds or formally qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in vehicle repair & maintenance preferred or track record of previous relevant experience.
2. Electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical fitting knowledge.
3. Experience with CNH products and agricultural equipment is an advantage, but not essential.
4. Background in Agriculture, Plant machinery, HGV or similar industries highly desired.
