About the Role: The Regional Support Manager will play a pivotal role in providing leadership, guidance, and operational support across a network of healthcare homes. This position will primarily focus on the Southern region but will also extend support to homes in other regions when required. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Home and Regional Managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality care, adherence to regulatory standards, and strong business performance. On occasion, you may be required to step in as a Home Manager when necessary. Working alongside the Director of Strategy, Operations Directors, and the Regional Management team, you will be responsible for managing and executing a continuous improvement programme. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead bespoke service improvement projects across all homes and services. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate measurable improvements through the execution of agreed targets and service transformation projects. This role requires a compassionate Registered Nurse with a background in regional management, who is keen to make a positive impact on the delivery of care. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate in the development and implementation of service improvement plans that drive better outcomes in care standards for residents and their families. Work with the Regional Manager to implement evidence-based, high-impact changes to support budget management, agency control, and recruitment efforts, applying best practices in change management for sustainable improvement. Continually identify areas for improvement, devise the best approaches, and select the necessary tools to drive changes. Ensure alignment of improvement initiatives with policies and strategic service development through coordination with Senior Management. Develop local and home-specific infrastructure for projects and programmes. Regularly review and evaluate developments, ensuring that projects reflect the latest thinking and are influenced by input from the Home team. Assume full accountability and management responsibility for a Home when required, ensuring suitable delegation to team members where appropriate. Secure local stakeholder support for improvement programmes, building relationships to ensure the success of initiatives. Foster joint working and consistency across the healthcare homes. Contribute to policy development and decision-making processes, including the creation of annual quality plans and budgets. Attend meetings to provide relevant, high-quality information and ensure alignment with organisational goals. Negotiate and address concerns raised by Senior Management, professional bodies, academic institutions, and suppliers, ensuring successful project and programme implementation. Encourage Home Manager involvement in projects and continuous improvement efforts, promoting learning, applying lessons, and evaluating performance. Support the development of Home Management teams and their professional growth. Monitor overall performance improvement and assist Regional Managers in developing strategies to address projects and programmes that do not meet agreed targets. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, requirements, and guidelines. Serve as a role model and advocate for best practice, continuous improvement, and a positive working environment. Collaborate with Senior Management and HR teams on all aspects of people management, including recruitment, employee relations, and team development. Maintain up-to-date reporting as required. Stay informed about industry innovation, best practices, and changes in regulation and guidelines. Undertake any additional responsibilities as reasonably requested by the Directors. About You: Right to work in the UK. A Registered Nurse with an active NMC registration. At least 1 year of experience in a regional role. Strong understanding of statutory care requirements. Budget management knowledge is desirable. Good understanding of key business activities within a care home setting. Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a demanding role. Excellent communication skills. Additional Information: Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS): You will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check. The employer will require three forms of ID to process this. Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC): You must hold an active UK NMC PIN to be eligible for this role.
