The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing a team of medicines management pharmacy technicians (MMPTs) and medicines management pharmacy assistants (MMATOs) at Northwick Park Hospital. They will also support the Principal Pharmacy Technician- Clinical Services in developing, maintaining, monitoring, and standardising the medicines management services across the Trust. Key responsibilities of the post will be:
1. To be responsible for the provision of a highly efficient medicines management service to a variety of wards within the Acute/ED, Medicine, Surgical, Care of the Elderly and Women's and Children's departments.
2. Promote a safe, efficient, and cost-effective use of medicines at ward level.
3. Support the provision and expansion of the medicines management pharmacy technician service across Northwick Park Hospital.
4. To line manage members of staff performing regular one to ones, accompanied ward visits and annual appraisals.
5. To support the Principal Pharmacy Technician, Clinical Services in the development and implementation of all training packs and policies related to medicines management.
6. To be responsible for own Continuing Professional Development and the education and training of the medicines management team.
7. Facilitate the induction, training, supervision and support of new members of ward-based pharmacy staff.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead Pharmacy Technician Medicines Management to join our dynamic, innovative and friendly team dedicated to improving our ward based clinical pharmacy services. We are looking for someone with experience and a passion in this area of work in hospital pharmacy. You must be an enthusiastic, motivated and a patient orientated pharmacy technician dedicated to patient safety. You will work with and lead the medicines management team to help implement, deliver and continually improve the technical and clinical support to wards and satellite units. You will need to have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team. You will also need to be friendly, approachable, adaptable, flexible, willing to learn new skills and be committed to continuous professional development. You will be a pharmacy technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have experience of line managing other members of staff. This is a full time post and the post holder will be required to participate in the weekend working and late duties as per rota.

Education/Qualifications
* BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical sciences.
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Completion of a recognised management course.
* NVQ assessor.
Knowledge and Experience
* Hospital experience as an MMPT.
* Knowledge of medicines management initiatives.
* Experience of delivering training.
* Experience of line management/leading teams.
* Experience in leading audits.
* Experience of evaluating service quality and analysing/reporting data.
* Knowledge of CMM/Cerner.
* Experience of working in and managing satellite pharmacies.

Salary: £51,883 to £58,544 a year per annum inclusive HCAS.
