Job Title: Spirometry Technician (ARTP trained)

Key Relationships: 32 General Practices, 4 PCNs, NWL ICB, Central London Borough Team, Westminster City Council, Bi-Borough (West London), Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL), Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH); One Westminster, Imperial College Health Partners
ROLE PURPOSE
The post-holder will work independently, delivering Spirometry and FeNO services to patients across 4 Primary Care Networks in Central London. The successful candidate should be trained and accredited to ARTP standards and have experience in Spirometry interpretation.
This role is based between St Johns Wood Medical Practice and The South Westminster Centre for Health.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performing Spirometry and FeNO tests.
2. Ensure that infection control standards are current and consistently met.
3. Ordering clinical equipment.
4. Liaising with admin team.
5. Participate in regular performance reviews with your designated line manager.
6. Be competent and current in anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques.
7. Recognise the need for safeguarding children and adults, raising concerns appropriately.
8. Take responsibility for administration and paperwork arising directly from caseload recordkeeping and other written communications with local GP surgeries as required, ensuring all appropriate templates and coding is completed for QOF (quality outcomes framework).
9. Participate in company training, join, and engage in events to maintain a good understanding of the business needs and colleagues.
10. Participate in monthly MDTs.
11. Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical decision making within your clinical competence.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Experience
* GCSE or equivalent grade A to C in English and Maths.
* Training and accredited to ARTP standards.
* Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients.
* Experience working in a healthcare setting.
* Spirometry performing and interpreting.
Knowledge
* Safeguarding Adults and Children.
* Infection prevention control.
* Basic Life Support.
Skills
