We are looking for a Production Operative to join an exciting global food brand at their new site in the UK.
Control and continuously improve all aspects of food safety, health & safety, quality, productivity, GMP, material and labour usage, and provide excellent customer service to the warehouse.
As a Packing Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the packing line.
Currently, we operate across 2 shifts: Mornings and Mid-shift, with a view to adding on Nights.
Key Areas of Responsibility and Standards of Performance
1. Ensure health and safety standards are maintained within your area of the factory.
2. Maintain the SAP system with accurate data and issue relevant reports.
3. Document control and compliance of all materials and stock.
4. Oversee the entire packing process on shift.
5. Ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
6. Coordinate maintenance of machinery (PPM Cycle).
7. Ensure compliance with industry regulations.
8. Analyse production data to optimise processes, reduce waste, and control costs. Effective communication with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders is crucial.
9. Responsible for training employees, resolving operational issues, and maintaining detailed records of production activities.
10. Attend daily operations meetings to share KPIs for the packing line's performance.
11. Participate as appropriate to improve performance for the packing line.
12. Identify and flag up any potential material shortages, communicating across the business in a timely manner to prevent customer shortages.
13. Provide support to the wider operations team as required.
14. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health & safety and food safety.
Scope
1. Communication of accurate and timely reporting to assist with cleaning plant performance.
2. Participate in operational meetings and assist with identifying sustainable solutions.
Person Specification
1. Proven experience of in-depth working with SAP.
2. Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment.
3. Help develop stock management strategy with the aim of reducing losses and obsolete stock, rationalising inventory, and maximising available space.
4. Work with the packing team to ensure proper arrangement of raw materials to allow for optimum efficiency and organisation.
5. Perform process and system testing to locate and solve problems in data integrity.
6. Competent user of Windows packages, including Excel at intermediate level or higher.
7. Able to work under pressure and constantly re-prioritise; results-focused.
8. Operates with an efficient work style, coupled with attention to detail and good time management.
9. Flexible, supportive in attitude, keen to run multiple tasks, and hungry to take on new challenges.
10. Individual who demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills.
11. Able to work unsupervised and on own initiative; challenges the status quo and is sensitive to the needs and demands on others.
12. Good literacy and numeracy skills.
