We have a new opportunity to be part of our Supplier Quality team in the role of Supplier Development Engineer.
Purpose:
To ensure external suppliers produce quality parts to Company standards. To develop supplier relationships and ensure continuous improvement aligned with AMR standards and expectations. Understand the overall expectation of the Quality and Inspection process required and implement new systems and methods in a constructive, positive, and practical manner to achieve optimum results of improved quality components from suppliers.
Responsibilities:
1. Audit suppliers and track their performance and introduce improvement plans as necessary.
2. Introduce and maintain quality standards documentation for parts produced externally.
3. Provide procedures and processes to enable and maintain full compliance of quality.
4. Development of supplier relations with a proactive approach to developing knowledge and skill sets.
5. Improve communication with Suppliers, Inspection, Procurement, Manufacturing and Design Office to successfully deliver quality parts, ensuring all processes have been carried out to the standard required.
6. Ensure the NCR process is robust, and all information is fed back to relevant suppliers in a timely manner.
7. Successful on-time management of assigned projects.
8. Professional and dynamic representation of the Company when dealing with current and any potential suppliers.
9. To chair, attend and proactively participate in meetings as required.
10. To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally and to respect and comply with the Company’s reporting structure.
11. To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard and maintain current and thorough working knowledge of quality assurance methods and processes.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
1. Must possess an excellent working knowledge of Quality Assurance methods and processes in a high-pressure engineering environment.
2. Must have experience of auditing supply chain ideally trained to ISO 9001 Lead Auditor level or equivalent.
3. Must have excellent attention to detail to ensure high quality parts are provided by suppliers within the timescales required.
4. Possess a thorough understanding of engineering drawings.
5. Possess experience dealing with high complexity parts and problem-solving issues to resolution under pressure.
6. Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or similar.
7. Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
8. To be self-motivated and thrive in a challenging environment.
9. Possess the ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
10. To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues and suppliers.
11. To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
12. Be results-oriented and be confident in your decision-making skills.
13. Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
14. Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety.
