We are recruiting on behalf of an estate located in the heart of the beautiful English Lake District, surrounded by open countryside, lakes, mountains, and picturesque landscapes. They are seeking someone who, like them, has a love for the outdoors! They are looking for someone to join their small team to share their knowledge and further develop their skills. There are a number of gardens on the estate as well as a wider group of properties. The successful candidate will assist in the maintenance and development of the gardens, ensuring they remain beautiful and well-kept throughout the year.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in planting, watering, and pruning flowers, shrubs, and trees.
* Maintain garden beds by weeding, mulching, and fertilizing as needed.
* Perform regular inspections to identify and address pest or disease issues promptly.
* Operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools safely.
* Assist in designing and implementing garden layouts and landscape plans.
* Collaborate with the head gardener and other team members to execute gardening projects efficiently.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization within the garden area.
* Provide excellent customer service when interacting with visitors or clients.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in gardening or landscaping preferred, but not required.
* Knowledge of plants, flowers, and gardening techniques.
* Ability to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
* Strong attention to detail and a passion for horticulture.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
