Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of building control professionals to ensure efficient enforcement of building regulations.
Conduct inspections and assessments of buildings to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Provide expert advice and guidance to clients, architects, and contractors on building compliance issues.
Manage complex enforcement cases, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation for enforcement actions and compliance assessments.
Collaborate with local authorities, stakeholders, and community members to foster positive relationships and promote best practices.
Stay abreast of changes in building legislation, standards, and best practice to ensure the enforcement team remains informed.
Requirements
Class 3 qualification in building control or equivalent professional accreditation.
Extensive experience in building control enforcement or a related field.
Strong knowledge of building regulations, safety standards, and enforcement practices.
Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and motivating teams.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
