What you’ll be doing
* Execute communications strategy across all product lines and contribute to media outreach planning efforts to support the corporate brand, product messaging, and product positioning directives.
* Position Belkin International and its four brands in a positive light by shaping and controlling communications in alignment with overall company messaging.
* Have a deep understanding and mastery of industry trends, campaign results and reporting data.
* Interface directly with cross-functional teams to fulfil company goals and objectives.
How you’ll do it
* Drive story idea development, maintain and grow media relationships, create media strategies and tactics to increase editorial placements in targeted media.
* Manage day-to-day media relations, which include drafting pitches, fielding media inquiries, conducting industry research, review unit loaner programmes, corporate asset maintenance including but not limited to corporate bios, messaging, FAQ, and more.
* Write and distribute press releases over newswires and to media lists.
* Plan, organize, and execute media events and trade show activities including working with finance team and vendors to issue POs.
* Collaborate with marketing and social media team to ensure strategy alignment.
* Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive marketplace. Anticipate and monitor relevant industry and media trends.
* Mastery of PR measurement tools such as Cision and Trendkite which translate into strong presentation skills and creating reports to track KPIs.
* Identify key opportunities such as trend stories, news cycles, profiles, and broadcast features.
* Support ROI measurement and analysis of Belkin press coverage and share-of-voice; manage media coverage vendors and compile monthly reports or others on an as needed basis.
* Deep cross-functional understanding of how to kick off projects that require collaboration with other teams.
* Maintain strong integrity, ethics, and credibility in all activities.
* Fulfil responsibilities under OHSAS 18001, understand and fully support OHSAS 18001 system.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
* Understand and follow company rules and regulations.
* Perform all other duties as assigned or required.
What you’ll need
* Undergraduate degree (BA/BS) in Public Relations or Communications-related study.
* 1-2 years relevant work experience in consumer and/or technology public relations (agency or corporate; internships applicable).
* Solid media relations experience in consumer technology and lifestyle media—within both traditional media as well as non-traditional media.
* Proven experience in and passion for social media – excellent knowledge of multiple social media platforms.
* Experience with Cision preferred.
* Expert knowledge of current Microsoft Office Suite software.
* Ability to interact positively and effectively with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as with media and vendors.
* Excellent organisational, oral, and written skills.
* Extremely organised, detail-oriented, and professional.
* Strong project management skills.
* Ability to work well with others; team player and a positive attitude.
* A natural born leader who can be a strategist one minute and a tactical problem solver the next.
