This position reports to the Head of Operations, and is responsible for delivering the following;
* Ensure that Aspers provides a healthy and safe environment for employees and customers through monitoring compliance with health and safety policy and working proactively to improve identification and minimisation of workplace hazards all measured by achieving a green audit score in a bi annual external H&S audit.
* To prepare and make the provision for undertaking insurance, health and safety and other such inspections as directed.
* To facilitate monthly Health and Safety meetings.
* Become the site expert on COSHH regulations, ensuring only company supplied chemicals and cleaning materials are used as instructed.
* Complete weekly floor walks with senior management team, providing cost effective and efficient resolves to any issues raised.
* Regular review that safe systems of work are in place both within site and surrounding area.
* Accountable for the provision and usage of protective clothing and equipment (PPE).
* Responsible for the maintenance and safety of all maintenance equipment.
* Assume ownership of the site accident book.
* Report all potential accidents and make sure that any accidents are recorded in the accident book.
* Complete risk assessments for the site on an as and when is required basis.
* Ensure that the site is covered with the relevant number of first aiders.
* Record and report energy consumption on a monthly basic.
* Manage the site maintenance log.
* Carry out repairs and maintenance work as required.
* Ownership, knowledge and adherence to the creation of the Maintenance department annual budget process.
* Oversee; analyse and action outcomes from payroll reports through TMS ensuring minimal financial risk to the department.
* Manage all external contracts used for annual PPM's.
* Manage the fire evacuation process.
* Deliver all HR responsibilities for the team (currently 2 FTE's)
Essential - A minimum of 2 years supervisory and/or management experience in a maintenance environment with an IOSH disciplined qualification.
Certificate to operate scissor and tower lifts. HSE First Aid Qualification 1981. Desirable - A diploma qualification (City and Guilds Certificate (electrical, plumber, gas etc) and/or degree in a NEEBOSH discipline.
* Knowledge of planning, forecasting, budgeting and financial processes such as cost control
* Excellent grasp of customer services principles with a flair for the execution of initiatives
* Solid understanding of leadership and management practices
* Ability to navigate Microsoft Excel & Word software programmes.
* Building and equipment maintenance, with a general understanding of plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry.
* Understanding of HVAC systems.
* Knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment is desirable.
