The role
Orbit are delighted to announce that we are recruiting for a Project Accountant to join our Finance Team. As a Project Accountant, your role is to provide excellent, accurate and relevant financial information to a range of stakeholders, with a primary focus on key projects within the business.
Day to day you will have line management responsibilities for one technician, whilst applying your accounting experience across the business, partnering with stakeholders providing consultation for crucial business projects across IT, Transformation and much more.
This role is part of the Finance Directorate where you'll help us to invest more back into communities
What you'll achieve
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Provide financial analysis and support to Business Stakeholders including the Executive Team & Leadership members for corporate business areas.
Monitor performance, analysing the implications of variances, challenging forecasts and testing scenarios. Working with corporate directorates, providing pertinent business insight to the Executive Directors.
Responsible for providing clear communication and reporting of the current, and forecast, financial position of relevant cost centres to manage delivery in line with budget expectation in conjunction with the leadership of that business area.
Work with stakeholders to create annual budgets on a for corporate directorates.
Responsible for the development of business cases to support new project activity. Once approved track and manage project spend to date and estimated future forecasts. Own and prepare project reporting to reflect project performance, monitor project costs, analyse variances, and provide insights to project managers for informed decision-making.What you'll bring
Essential skills:
Qualified or finalist (ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA/ICAEW/equivalent).
Motivate and develop staff to maximise potential and drive-up personal performance.
Extensive experience of using Microsoft Excel to provide business information.
Strong financial analysis and modelling skills.
