This locum position offers a competitive rate of £38 per hour and is an ongoing, full-time role, initially until 28th February 2025. Based at Lancashire House, Accrington, you will be part of a dynamic multi-agency team, working in the office three times a week and enjoying the flexibility of working from home for the remaining two days.

What you will do:
1. Act as a pivotal member of a multi-agency team, meeting the needs of children and young people including those in need of protection or looking for safeguarding.
2. Undertake social work assessments and provide ongoing services based on the assessed needs of children, young people, and their families.
3. Respond professionally and expediently to enquiries from professionals and the public, ensuring safe outcomes in line with agreed safeguarding thresholds.
4. Manage a caseload related to children, young people, and families, coordinating with partners to achieve the best possible results.
5. Prepare for and engage in court-related work within appropriate timescales.
6. Identify and safeguard children in need of protection, assessing needs, and providing service interventions as required.
7. Keep up-to-date records and make full use of IT systems as part of the Directorate's procedures.
8. Contribute to supervision processes, professional development, and training opportunities, while being actively involved in community affairs.
9. Ensure the wishes and needs of children are included in assessment and planning processes, promoting participation from young people.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
1. Degree or equivalent in social work
2. Current Social Work England registration
3. Significant frontline experience in Social Services within the UK working as a qualified Social Worker
