Are you a passionate Music Teacher looking to inspire and engage students in a thriving music department? Hatcham College is seeking a dedicated educator to join our team and contribute to our rich and diverse music programme.
This role offers the opportunity to plan and deliver engaging Music lessons to mixed-ability classes across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential involvement in Key Stage 5. Our broad and exciting curriculum runs all year for Years 7-9, with well-enrolled GCSE and BTEC courses at Key Stage 4, and RSL and A-Level Music available at Key Stage 5.
Music is at the heart of our school, with students who are deeply passionate about the subject. Ten percent of our pupils are admitted through an audition process as part of our music specialism, and all students benefit from the extensive opportunities we provide. With over 400 peripatetic lessons each week, a variety of ensembles and clubs, and regular concerts and workshops, there is a strong culture of musical excellence within the school. Our students take part in monthly Teatime concerts, termly performances, and trips to some of London’s best music venues.
As part of this role, you will collaborate with the Music team to continue delivering an outstanding programme, ensuring students have access to high-quality music education. You will also play a key role in the wider musical life of the College, supporting performances, working closely with our Instrumental Music Co-ordinator and Music Technicians, and engaging with our network of over 30 peripatetic staff.
Strong communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to inspire trust and respect among students, staff, and parents. A commitment to innovative teaching, professional development, and maintaining high standards in music education is key. The role also involves working closely with the Faculty Lead and academy staff to support student learning and development.
Hatcham College is committed to promoting equal opportunities, supporting a diverse and inclusive environment, and upholding safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. If you are looking to make a real impact in a school with a thriving music culture, we would love to hear from you.
