Role Responsibility There is an exciting opportunity to join the Resource Management and Circular Economy division in Kent. This role focuses on delivering projects that drive growth and innovation within the division. The Waste Liaison Officer will be responsible for a variety of activities and projects that bring significant council savings and enhance service efficiencies, contributing to the overall sustainability and effectiveness of KCC's Resource Management operations. The Waste Liaison Officer will act as the informed and consistent business partner for the Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs), ensuring that any issues, concerns, or recommendations for improvement are captured and escalated as appropriate. You will represent KCC's interests within the Kent Resource Partnership and District Partnerships, reporting any strategic or service-level issues to the Service Delivery Manager. This role involves providing high-quality advice to WCAs and other stakeholders on service-based policies, issues, and procedures, ensuring non-compliance issues such as contamination are addressed. You will lead and represent KCC's interests in meetings and forums, brief the Service Delivery Manager on emerging themes, and work with colleagues to ensure joined-up communications with WCAs and other partners. The role requires collaborative working with County, District, and Borough Council officers, as well as external partners such as contractors and other stakeholders. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
