As the Public Sector Account Executive within Amazon Web Services (AWS) focusing on the Korea Healthcare, Academic Health Education, Clinical Research Institutions, Health Tech and Bio Informatics markets, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of Amazon’s utility computing web services and platform within the sectors' communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Helping to define key Healthcare, Academic Health Education, Clinical Research Institutions, Health Tech and Bio Informatics (Genomics) market segments to target.
2. Driving the necessary business and technical relationships with customers and partners to establish new business in those markets.
3. Enabling the sales team to drive the day-to-day interactions with prospects in order to build long-term business opportunity.
4. Working closely with the product/service teams to help them evolve the products/services and address issues, concerns, and requests from the field.
The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the high-level health educators and researchers, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.
Key job responsibilities
1. Serve as a key member of the sales team in helping to drive Korea AWS Healthcare, Academic Health Education and Research Institutions, Health Tech and Bio Informatics (Genomics) markets and technical strategy.
2. Help to define the AWS Healthcare segments (Healthcare, Academic Health Education, Clinical Research Institutions, Health Tech and Bio Informatics), and the verticals we target.
3. Set a strategic business development plan for target markets and ensure it's in line with the AWS strategic direction.
4. Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, partner team, etc.).
5. Identify specific prospects/partners to approach while communicating the specific value proposition for their business and use case.
6. Fill the business development pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and key customers.
7. Work closely with the customer base to ensure they are successful using our web services, making sure they have the technical resources required.
8. Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers.
9. Understand and exploit the use of salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems.
10. Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new customers.
11. Manage complex contract negotiations and liaison with the legal group. Develop long-term strategic partnerships in support of our key markets.
12. Handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market.
13. Experienced with account management (Healthcare, Clinical Research, University, Health Tech, Bio Informatics) and solution selling ability.
14. Relevant technical knowledge is helpful, such as: database systems, core distributed computing concepts, fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization, storage systems with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between varied data storage services.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Excellent communication and writing skills, and be both technical and analytical and possess 5+ years of business development or account management experience in healthcare, clinical research, university market segments.
2. Self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through.
3. Must have a good understanding of government procurement and education contract vehicles.
4. Excellent communicator who can quickly earn the respect of the team and customers.
5. Must have the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
6. Acts in accordance with vision, mission, and established goals.
7. The right person will be technical and analytical, and possess several years of business development enterprise sales, or program/product management experience.
8. Experience working within the Healthcare, Clinical Research, Health Tech, Healthcare IT, Bio Informatics is highly desired.
9. Experience in serving the education sector/public sector would be advantageous.
10. MBA, Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math background.
11. Working knowledge of software development practices and data center/infrastructure/networking technologies/Healthcare IT solutions (PACS, EMR, LIS).
