Responsible for:
Supporting Care Leavers into meaningful employment by working as part of a team seeking to remove barriers to employment for Care Leavers and bring about systemic change. Our team will be working in partnership with employers, Hull City Council and our funder, Youth Futures Foundation.
Location
The Warren Project, Kingston Upon Hull.
Job Purpose:
1. To work as part of a small project team to support Care Leavers aged 18-25 into meaningful employment and continuing the research into systemic barriers to employment for Care Leavers.
2. To liaise and build constructive partnerships with the Local Authority (particularly the Care Leaving Team), employers, training providers, the Action Researcher, other relevant partners, and the funder to ensure the success of the project.
3. To support young people in a trauma-informed way, understanding young people’s needs and engaging them with targeted support and positive activities with a view to moving into appropriate employment.
4. To manage a caseload of young people and organise activities, meetings and sessions with them as well as managing a workload of team meetings, partnership meetings and relevant training.
5. To continue to develop training packages for employers and to deliver that training alongside our trauma-informed lead.
6. To continue researching alongside young people, listening to them, and collaborating with them to ensure the research continues to be youth-led.
7. Work with the team and an external Action Researcher to build on the research and to collaboratively create a Theory of Change.
8. To ensure the delivery of the project meets the needs of the young people they serve, while also complying with contractual requirements of the funder.
9. To be responsible for ensuring all monitoring and evaluation and quality assurance requirements are completed to the highest standard and by agreed deadlines.
10. To be committed to The Warren’s ethos of Empowerment when working with young people, colleagues, partners and external agencies.
