About the role:
We are looking for a strong SEN 1:1 teaching assistant to work with a pupil in year 6, with ASD. You will need to help this child catch up with the rest of the class and prepare them for their move to secondary school.
Job Description: As a Year 6 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored learning activities.
Provide one-on-one and small group support for students, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Collaborate with other staff members, parents, and external professionals to support student needs.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a primary school setting.
A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
