Applications are invited for a full-time/part-time Staff Nurse in Occupational Health to join our large multi-disciplinary Occupational Health and Wellbeing service. This is a replacement post and is based at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). It is a great opportunity to progress your career in occupational health. Previous experience in Occupational Health is not essential. We have a comprehensive 5-week in-house training package to support your initial training needs.

Specific to this role is the suitability for agile working which is a mixture of on-site and remote working. In addition, we are open to discussing flexibility in the hours that you work. WHAT YOU’LL DO
The successful applicant will be responsible for and involved in doing pre-employment / pre-placement occupational health screening, immunisation screening, dealing with sharps injuries and contamination incidents, delivering vaccination programmes, undertaking health surveillance such as skin checks and participating in outbreak investigations and meetings. The department is open Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:00 although you will need to have some flexibility around hours from time to time. Most of the duties are based at the University of Southampton Hospital site but you may be required to work at other sites at planned times according to the needs of our clients.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The successful applicant should be a registered nurse and have post-registration clinical experience. Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic nurse with good communication skills, who wants to work in a multidisciplinary team and is interested in occupational health.

The Occupational Health team consists of 2 consultant occupational physicians, a Lead OH nurse, Service Manager, Speciality Trainees, 13 OH nurses, Wellbeing practitioners, IT and administrative support. The OH Service has been SEQOHS accredited since 2012. We provide comprehensive OH and wellbeing service to approximately 13,000 Trust employees.
