LOCATION: OFFICE OF COURT ADMINISTRATION, DIVISION OF TECHNOLOGY & COURT RESEARCH, 125 JORDON ROAD, TROY, NY.
QUALIFICATIONS: One year in the Junior Court Analyst title; or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or High School diploma or the equivalent and four (4) years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK: Assistant Court Analysts provide professional level assistance to Court Analysts and higher level personnel in the Analyst Series in projects involving personnel administration, resource allocation, budget development and court finance, administration and policy formation. They may perform as part of a project team where they may be assigned entering level professional tasks which, under supervision of a Court Analyst or Senior Court Analyst, are designed to enhance the professional growth of the employee.
ASSIGNMENT: This position, located in the Division of Technology & Court Research, involves conducting research and providing support for Criminal History Record Searches. Key responsibilities include:
1. Researching criminal history records and verifying and troubleshooting case information using criminal case management systems and related applications
2. Assisting with customer account maintenance and inquiries
3. Conducting research to troubleshoot and resolve missing case information
4. Updating and maintaining all CHRS forms
5. Validating customer identifiers and confirming defendant details
6. Acting as a liaison with courts to verify case data
7. Handling and responding to phone and email inquiries from the public
8. Managing payment disputes and related issues
Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills are required and familiarity with criminal data is helpful.
