The Role
An opportunity has arisen in the Private Sector Housing team. We are seeking a qualified Environmental Health Officer or Private Sector Housing Officer to join our established Private Sector Housing team. This role will work in HMO licensing and enforcement.

We want to hear from motivated, driven, flexible professionals. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and have excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills. They will be able to prioritise and manage a caseload, think creatively and show initiative and a willingness to learn and develop their knowledge and skills.
You can expect a busy and challenging workload and will need to able to work effectively from home.
Whilst we are ideally looking for a fully qualified and experienced Environmental Health Officer, we are keen to hear from you if you have completed your degree in Environmental Health but not yet completed your professional qualification route. We will support you to achieve your professional qualification.
We are also keen to hear from you if you have extensive experience as a Private Sector Housing Officer carrying out housing enforcement activity within a Local Authority.
What we offer
Salary grade will depend on qualifications and experience. In addition to the basic salary, a Market Forces Supplement is currently applied to this role to increase this for eligible candidates only.
The Private Sector Housing team sits within the Public Protection Service which includes all Environmental Health teams. We work flexibly, including from home, remote, office and site working to ensure a work/life balance.
