Site Process Operator
Initial training salary will be £31,466.20 per annum moving to £34,962.44 per annum following completion of training plan. When deployed to shift an allowance of £8,218 per annum is applicable together with Committed Hours pay.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Shift Manager, the role exists to ensure the control of plant
operations in a safe and efficient manner, generating product in accordance with
business requirements complying with relevant legislation and quality assurance
standards.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to)
1. To control and operate plant operations in a safe and efficient manner.
2. To ensure that site and local SHE procedures are properly applied and identify opportunities for improvement.
3. To encourage compliance with safety health and environment rules, procedures and legislation amongst contractors and drivers
4. To undertake FLT daily checks and report problems
5. To drive FLT counterbalance (and FEL where appropriate) within site policies and procedures
6. To ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.
7. To ensure correct disposal of waste using recycling systems where appropriate.
8. To report accidents, incidents and near misses promptly using ETQ reporting tool and assist with investigation where appropriate.
9. To monitor processes via routine walkrounds and SCADA systems and identify problems and troubleshoot plant processes.
10. To be fully flexible in the use of skills and competencies on own and other plant operations across the site.
11. To be proactive in the control of process plant, working individually or as part of a team, including the taking of corrective actions in order to maintain the operation to the required standards.
12. To carry out in process testing to ensure product quality meets set conformance targets.
13. To ensure samples are booked into the QC area of the Technical Services building.
14. Raise maintenance work orders for plant breakdowns, planned or safety related tasks.
15. To ensure timely and accurate data entry on both computer and in manual, written logs with appropriate interpretation of information.
16. To liaise with tradesmen, QC, process engineer, logistics, etc… where necessary.
17. To control and log all stock including the ordering of raw materials where appropriate.
18. To ensure excellent housekeeping standards for the plant areas are achieved and maintained.
19. To undertake tasks outside main area of skill and competence under TEST principles.
Key Performance Indicators
20. EHS statistics including accidents, incidents, audits, procedures, permit to work reviewing and 5S auditing.
21. Quality conformance including in process and finished goods, packaging standards, etc.
22. Plant utilisation in line with plan.
23. Customer service performance, i.e. fulfilling production schedule.
24. Control and presentation of plant information.
25. Housekeeping standards.
