You will have senior operational level experience within the NHS with proven expert management and leadership skills in a diverse, service-focused, complex organisation including staff management, change management, performance management, and service transformation.
Working closely with the Divisional Director and Divisional Chief Nurse, the post holder will develop, direct, and lead strategic direction, service improvement and performance strategies and policies to support the delivery of flexible, efficient, effective and safe services across the division.
Main duties of the job
Building on the significant progress made in running operational services and delivering effective leadership balanced with scrutiny, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the division to ensure that operational delivery ensures high quality patient care and enables the Trust to achieve its performance and quality objectives. This role will be involved in exciting new portfolio of work such as ECAS and working with partners to have the Elective Centre be GIRFT accredited.

About us
This division brings together the functions of Trust-wide Theatres, Anaesthetic & Critical Care teams whilst also having a portfolio of General Surgery and Urology Clinical specialties. The role has operational and strategic opportunities linking with the National Theatre teams, GIRFT, National Bowel Screening Programme teams and the Cancer Alliance. The post works closely with the ICS performance teams whilst leading the internal delivery of cancer and RTT performance.
The division has implemented a successful Theatre Improvement Programme across its sites and is leading the way with colleagues in the Specialist Surgery Division in implementing the Trust's Elective Centre (ECAS). Through innovation, rapport, and great team spirit, the Division of Surgery has continued to exceed this year's Elective Recovery Targets for both the financial plan and ERF. The division has made great successes in culture change and implemented 'Unmask your Stories' and is now an ACSA accredited Anaesthetic Provider.
Successful collaboration and innovation in our services has led the division in making its mark in providing mass outpatient clinics and conversion to Theatre HIIT lists '£100k a day lists'.
