The opportunity: The Manufacturing Operations Director will lead the entire manufacturing process for a highly successful division, maintaining superb engineering and logistical standards, as well as leading and influencing a highly experienced and motivated team. Core focus of the role includes:
1. Plan, manage and execute all aspects of manufacturing controls to ensure exceptional efficiency that meets rigorous customer demands.
2. Design, implement and develop ongoing process and cost control efficiencies assuming complete P&L responsibility.
3. Manage all aspects of value stream activities ensuring strict adherence to high-quality product standards that meet strict regulatory requirements.
4. Lead, develop and motivate a large team of direct and indirect reports.
5. Ensure that sound H&S policy and practice resonates throughout the site.
6. Work closely with sales, marketing and customer support colleagues, acting as a senior ambassador to major clients.
7. Analysis of tooling effectiveness and pioneering material waste reduction strategy.
8. Take lead with outgoing commentary related to site performance, budgets, forecasts and cost controls.
9. Undertake a degree of national and international travel where required.
The person we are searching for: A highly experienced manufacturing and/or engineering professional with at least three years of recently gained experience in a similar position. Key skills and experience include:
1. A business or engineering degree.
2. A dynamic, people-oriented change agent, with a passion for driving and supporting teams, providing mentorship and developing people.
3. Superb manufacturing and production expertise with a strong knowledge of lean tooling, equipment, mechanics and value streams.
4. Exceptional commercial awareness.
5. A sound understanding of P&L, budgets, forecasting and cost controls.
6. Strong IT aptitude (MS Office and bespoke digital tools).
7. Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher).
The role: This is a full-time, permanent position operating from our client’s site in mid Cornwall. Base salary circa £115,000 + Exceptional bonus scheme + enhanced benefits package + relocation support (where required).
