Full Time / Permanent Role
My client, a country-wide independent building materials group, is currently seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to join them on a full-time permanent basis based at their Surrey location. The role will cover the Godstone and Crawley areas for new and existing business within the building materials, concrete, and construction industry.
This is a fast-paced role that will require working independently at times – you will need to show an interest in figures and profits to ensure successful tender for large projects and repeat business.
The Role
1. Exciting opportunity to join the Commercial Team, managing the commercial performance for our Godstone, Surrey, and Crawley, West Sussex Plants.
2. Through complete market knowledge, deliver on agreed commercial targets in relation to value-added products, revenue, and margin.
3. As a proven negotiator, develop key customer relationships in a new market area for the company and build long-term customer loyalty.
4. Support the commercial credit policy at all times and liaise with customers to manage our risks.
5. Use your skills as a team player to work alongside all departments and deliver exceptional customer service.
6. Produce accurate commercial reports and forecasts.
The Requirements
1. Self-confident and self-motivated individual with strong selling and negotiation skills and a proven track record in delivering results.
2. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of internal and external customers.
3. Ability to quickly interpret industry and market knowledge to devise and deliver local commercial strategies.
4. Demonstrate our brand values.
5. Must be IT literate along with business report writing skills.
6. Experience in building materials, concrete, or construction sales would be advantageous.
