About the role
Working in partnership with the Buyers, Marketing, Store Development, Quality, Operations, Digital teams and Suppliers our Assistant Merchandise Planners play a pivotal role within the business, supporting our merchandise planning teams to make sure we have the right products, in the right place, at the right time for both our store and online customers.

Key Responsibilities
1. Support Merchandise Planner with forecasts for sales volume taking inputs from trading teams for promotions, new ranges and seasons.
2. Support Merchandise Planner with management of all aspects of Merchandise Planning KPI’s including DC and Store Availability; stock holding; stock turn; OTB; forecast accuracy; Distribution Centre capacity.
3. Assist in the management of inventory to agreed stock budgets and within OTB.
4. Make recommendations to the Merchandise Planner when day-to-day stock issues arise, and on under/over performance within the area.
5. Work closely with the DC to ensure all administrative processes are followed correctly.
6. Collaborate cross-functionally with relevant departments, e.g. space planning; digital; retail operations; marketing, etc.
7. Support with range reviews and promotions to ensure all are landed in store, on time and to plan.
8. Assist Merchandise Planner with clearance of obsolete and redundant stock.
9. Be the day-to-day contact for suppliers.
10. Run category reports for use by the Merchandise Planning team.
11. Act as the second point of contact for store queries.
About You
* A highly motivated, experienced individual with a passion for retail who will thrive in a fast-paced and pressurised environment.
* Customer obsessed.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving and commercial skills.
* SAP / BW experience. Power BI an advantage.
* Strong Excel and data handling skills.
* A proven team player demonstrating the ability to work cross-functionally within a business.
* Ability to communicate confidently & concisely to all levels within the business.
