In this catering post, you would be responsible for all activities in the kitchen and it's surroundings including cooking, organisation and supervision of food service.
You will be in charge of supervising staff working in the kitchen.
You must be aware of HACCP procedures and ensure all paperwork including electronic returns are completed and submitted accordingly.
Understanding dietary and nutritional needs of the residents within the care home.
Duties may also include transporting and serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen and it's surround.
We currently have a casual vacancy to join our teams throughout Fife within Care Homes in Dunfermline, Lumphinnans, Kirkcaldy, Methil, Anstruther, Glenrothes and Cupar.
Enhancements are paid for unsociable hours and weekend working.
Casual staff can be asked to work any day of the week covering for annual leave and absence with some flexibility.
Casual staff receive payments in lieu of annual leave for hours worked.
You will earn £13.26 per hour and have access to a range of benefits, including:

This work is about ensuring residents are provided with meals throughout the day.
Training on in house systems will be provided. Working towards an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate will be essential once in post.
You are required to have relevant catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team.
You will be required to attend an induction training day before starting in post.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
