2. Position: Tendering Engineer
3. Type: Permanent Contract
4. Shift: Monday – Friday Day Shift
5. Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum
About the Role:
As a Tendering Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in preparing and leading proposals and cost estimates for various projects. You will work closely with the Bids and Tenders team to ensure the submission of robust and competitive documentation aimed at securing contracts with both existing and prospective clients.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Sales Team in the acquisition of new works including preparation of proposal documentation and estimates as required.
2. Lead, plan and prepare proposals and cost estimates for projects.
3. Manage the estimation enquiry process.
4. Prepare detailed proposals.
5. Maintain and build upon current client relationships and assist in the development of new client relationships, attending and contributing to meetings.
6. Ensure the smooth operation of the estimating and tender process liaising closely with clients and all departments across the group.
7. Assist with bids for new contracts and support the activities of the buyers.
8. Support the business in the successful conversion of estimates into orders.
9. Prepare and submit competitive tender packages.
10. Interpret drawings and specifications from clients to produce accurate estimation.
11. Create presentations and documents to support internal communications.
12. Gather information to populate estimation documents.
13. Organise project files with internal and external information.
14. Input details or maintain information stored in CRM.
15. Deputise for the Bids and Tender Manager when required.
About You:
1. Engineering degree - desirable.
2. Knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Have a minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) grade A–C.
5. Eagerness to develop your knowledge and attend internal and external training.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
