We are looking for Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our passionate team, working alongside nurses, doctors, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, family therapists, and dieticians, to make a real difference.
Cotswold House Marlborough is a 12 bedded mixed gender ward which offers inpatient and day patient treatment to adults with an eating disorder.
We have a skilful and dedicated MDT team including nurses and HCAs, and within this team you will be directly involved in the assessment, care planning, and delivery of treatment. Each patient has a dedicated care team who works closely alongside colleagues to support the individual patient. You will also assist in other ward and team duties as directed by the registered nurse.
Main duties of the job
The role importantly involves shift work which provides cover 24 hours, 7 days a week. This includes nights and weekends. It is a varied role that can be rich and rewarding, and you will be valued and supported by the team around you.
As a member of the nursing team the post holder is expected to demonstrate attitudinal competence through a professional, approachable, and helpful manner towards patients, their families and carers, visitors, and colleagues throughout the organisation. The post holder is expected to actively support high standards of care delivery.

Job responsibilities
Main Tasks Include:
* Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to patients and their families/carers in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.
* Contribute to and interpret care plans accurately and consistently.
* Normalise appropriate eating behaviours by role modelling and supporting patients at snack and meal times.
* Assist at mealtimes to ensure patients have an adequate diet and bring any problems to the attention of the Nurse in Charge.
* Work alongside the occupational therapy team with the delivery of activities such as supporting patients with snacks and meals out in the local community.
* Carry out delegated care tasks such as escort duty and assist with patient daily living activities.
* Encourage patients to engage in general communication and more specifically to feel able to talk about concerns, needs and wants and feedback communications to Nurse in Charge.
