SEN Teaching Assistant Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team, to work in secondary schools in and around Newport. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work with children who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially. Your responsibilities will include working closely with student/s providing individualised support and implementing tailored strategies for learners with varying needs. Location: Newport Job Type: Monday – Friday, 8:30 - 15:30 Start Date: Immediate Pay: £12.90 per hour, dependent on experience. Key Responsibilitie s - Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, reinforcing learning objectives and facilitating participation in class activities. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents and staff. - Implement strategies that address the physical, emotional, or academic challenges faced by each student. - Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as needed. - Ensure the pupil is kept safe, with an inclusive and stimulating environment. - Participate in training and professional development sessions related to Autism, ADHD and other additional needs. Qualifications - Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN is not a requirement but is preferred. - Enhanced DBS and Educational Workforce Council (EWC) registration – Teaching Personnel can assist you with applying for these. - Right to work in the UK, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
