Brief Description
Who are we looking for?
The Head of Technical Policy and Strategy for Future Control, Command and Signalling Systems will lead the development of policies and strategies for GB railways taking a whole industry perspective including Network Rail, Train/Freight Operators and their Supply Chains.
About the role
The System Authority is an independent centre of knowledge and excellence, offering unbiased guidance and support to Duty Holders, Digital Railway Project Entities, and the wider industry on Future Control Command Signalling (F-CCS) technologies.
The Head of Technical Policy and Strategy will lead the Guiding Body function within the System Authority for F-CCS Systems. The role includes co-ordination between system development programmes and delivery projects associated with F-CCS Systems to provide alignment with the F-CCS Industry Vision and Policy and the F-CCS Digital Masterplan.
Essential Criteria
* Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience
* Substantial engineering experience including digital railway and legacy systems
* A sound knowledge of industry wide policies and strategies associated with digital railway solutions
* Proven ability to manage system engineering activities in a business environment
* Strong and proven communication, coordination and negotiating skills
* Proven influencing and persuasion skills
* Corporate member of relevant professional institution
