Role Overview
As the Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the Foundation’s fundraising efforts. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure the financial resources needed to achieve our mission. Working closely with our partner Sweaty Betty, supporters, partners, and donors, you will lead on building and maintaining relationships, managing fundraising campaigns, and diversifying income streams.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy and Execution
* Develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy aligned with the Foundation’s mission and goals.
* Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities across various income streams, including individual giving, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, and events.
* Set and achieve annual fundraising targets.
Relationship Management
* Build and maintain relationships with key donors, partners, and stakeholders.
* Develop compelling proposals and pitches tailored to potential supporters’ interests.
* Ensure excellent stewardship of existing donors through regular updates, impact reporting, and personalised engagement plans.
Campaigns and Events
* Lead the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events.
* Collaborate with the Sweaty Betty team and our partners to create impactful materials and communications that inspire giving.
* Monitor and evaluate the success of campaigns and use insights to optimise future activities.
Compliance and Reporting
* Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation and best practices, including the Fundraising Regulator, GDPR and charity commission guidelines.
* Develop and maintain databases and systems to capture donor information and stewardship.
* Prepare regular reports on fundraising performance, including income forecasts and risk analysis.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
* Work closely with other members of the Foundation team to align fundraising efforts with programmatic goals.
* Manage volunteers or temporary staff supporting fundraising initiatives, as needed.
* Maintain strong stewardship of donors.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in a similar fundraising role, with a track record of achieving income targets
* Strong understanding of various fundraising streams, including corporate sponsorship, philanthropic donors, individual giving, and trusts and foundations.
* Excellent relationship-building and stewardship skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting persuasive proposals and presentations.
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
* Strong analytical skills to evaluate fundraising performance and inform strategic decisions.
* Experience with digital fundraising tools and platforms
* Delivering impactful fundraising campaigns
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience in the sports, health, or wellbeing/active sectors.
* Knowledge of fundraising compliance and regulations.
* Understanding of fundraising pipelines
* Project management skills
