Here at Evotec we are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician. Working within the Engineering and Facilities team who are primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of Production, Utilities, Laboratory and Office Assets.
Role: Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, typically 0745 - 1645

Location: Milton Park, Abingdon
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance to ensure that the building, plant and equipment continues to support day to day operations.
* Maintain site services; AHU’s, extract fans/motors, electrical LV systems, lighting, water systems (process/domestic) inclusive of pumps, laboratory fume cupboards, pipework, calorifiers, boilers, pressurisation units and vacuum systems.
* Complete investigations, problem solving, and fault finding where failures occur.
* Liaise with, manage, and support external contractors in maintaining; gas boilers, compressed air, UPS, electrical LV switchgear, PAT, BMS, fire alarm, generators, laboratory gas services, general building fabric and facility repairs, AC/chillers, LEV & pressurised equipment.
* As a Team member, support routine activities such as weekly fire alarm testing, and daily checks to verify correct operation of engineering plant.
* Action maintenance/engineering requests, either internally or by use of external contractors for specialist work.
* Occasional weekend/out of hours work and participation in on-call rota (~1 week per month).
* Undertake the duties outlined above and other duties as directed by Engineering Management and from time to time carry out any additional tasks as may be required to support the Company.
Your ideal skills and experience:
* 5 years of general Mechanical, Utilities Maintenance experience gained in a facilities, manufacturing, chemical/laboratory environment is essential.
* Experience gained in operation of a Building Management System, Energy Initiatives and/or working in ATEX environments would be advantageous.
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, co-operative and reliable.
* Desire and motivation to grow and take on increased responsibility and/or supervisory responsibility.
* Able to learn new techniques, process and procedures.
* Customer focused, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Able to work methodically with attention to detail, even when under pressure.
* Basic computer literacy and knowledge of H&S practices is expected.
Education:
* Apprenticeship in Mechanical, NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent.
* H&S Training based on practical experience.
