The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity on a full-time permanent basis for Mooring/General Operatives based in and around the Port of Liverpool. You must be flexible with working hours and shift work, as well as having a positive can-do attitude with a desire to succeed in a challenging environment.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Mooring and unmooring vessels in accordance with safe working practices, under the direction of vessel pilots or crew members.
2. Communicating effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other stakeholders to provide an effective and professional service.
3. Operating a handheld VHF radio for communicating with colleagues or vessels.
4. Driving a company vehicle (for the purpose of transporting yourself and other work colleagues to work sites).
5. Deploying, monitoring, and dismantling Shore Tension equipment.
6. Providing bridge operation and assistance when required (for the two bridges at Birkenhead).
7. Being a member of the gig-boat crew during operations, both within the Port and at Tranmere Oil Terminal.
