Maintenance Engineer & Depratment Lead – Real Impact, Real Change I'm representing a well-established, Bolton-based manufacturing business in their search for a Maintenance Engineer - and this isn’t just another maintenance job. This is a genuine opportunity to make a tangible impact on the performance, culture, and future of the business. The company is on a journey of transformation. With a new Managing Director (in post 12 months) who has a strong maintenance background, there’s a clear and committed vision to bring structure, consistency, and excellence into the maintenance function - and this role is right at the heart of it. Right now, there’s so much room for improvement - from reducing machine downtime and improving site standards, to implementing 5S, TPM, and driving energy savings. It’s the perfect opportunity for someone who knows how to spot the gaps and take ownership of change. Why This Role? Because the MD gets it – he’s been in your shoes and knows what good looks like. Because it’s the right time – the business is stabilising, improving, and wants someone to lead maintenance forward. Because it’s not a dead-end role – you’ll be hands-on, but also strategic, working closely with leadership and operations. Because your work will matter – whether it’s right-first-time repairs, reducing reactivity, or bringing in apprentices, the business will feel your impact. Your Role: This is a hands-on, multi-skilled, days-based role with variety - from machinery maintenance and fault finding, to facilities compliance and continuous improvement. You’ll also help shape apprentice development, improve standards, and build systems from the ground up. You’ll work directly with the MD and leadership team. What We’re Looking For: Someone with the experience, mindset, and energy to bring structure to maintenance and drive change - not just fix what's broken. Opportunity Highlights: Own the full scope of maintenance across production and facilities Work directly with a passionate, engineering - savvy MD Join a business undergoing real transformation Contribute to TPM, PPM, and energy saving initiatives Shape compliance systems and site-wide standards Play a key role in mentoring and developing apprentices Flexible hours and core working window (9am–3pm) Salary & Benefits: £45,000–£50,000 DOE 37-hour week Core hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm - Flexibility to suit the right individual If you’re ready to take ownership, make improvements, and be part of a leadership-driven journey - I’d love to speak with you. This is a role that will grow with you
