Events Assistant Seren Summer School July 2025

The School of Medicine is looking for a student studying any degree who is interested in event management as a career. The School of Medicine is running a Summer School (3 day/2 night) event for Year 12 students who are interested in applying to Medicine in the future.
Duties would include:
* Booking rooms and accommodation.
* Writing and sending communications to attendees and their parents.
* Writing and sending communications to medical students taking part.
* Creating spreadsheets to hold information.
* Liaising with other university staff, e.g. booking car parking, security etc.
* Liaising with other stakeholders including external parties.
* Putting together timetables for small groups of attendees.
* Producing and printing badges, registration lists, certificates, signs etc.
* Liaising with colleagues to prepare workshops. Prepare and print materials for workshops.
* Attend the Summer School to ensure it all runs smoothly.
* Well-organised with excellent time management.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and works well in a team.
* Confident, friendly, personable, professional, and customer-focused.
* Experienced in event organisation.
* Ability to think on your feet, use initiative, and is a problem-solver.
* Remains calm under pressure and works well to deadlines.
* A positive, happy student who is doing well in their degree.
* Works efficiently and is willing to work outside of normal working hours.
* Flexible and able to work in the Heath Park Campus office as and when requested.
* Understands confidentiality, is responsible, and has no prejudice.
The right person will be professional, fulfil the above criteria, and is available to start work as soon as possible until the end of July.
15 hours per week @ £12.60 per hour. Preferably working half days.
