A well-established primary school in Hounslow is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to cover a maternity leave on a part-time basis (2-3 days a week). The Role:
* Lead and oversee the SEN provision across the school, ensuring the needs of SEN students are being met effectively.
* Work closely with class teachers and support staff to deliver individual education plans (IEPs) and appropriate interventions.
* Collaborate with external agencies to provide support for students with more complex needs.
* Monitor the progress of SEN students, ensuring they are making appropriate academic and personal progress.
* Support teachers and staff by providing advice and training on SEN strategies, promoting an inclusive approach across the school.
* Manage the SEN budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively for maximum impact.
* Maintain a strong partnership with parents to ensure they are well informed and supported in their child’s educational journey.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a SENCO qualification (or working towards it).
* Previous experience as a SENCO, or in a role with significant experience in managing SEN provision.
* A strong understanding of SEN strategies and experience working with students with a range of special educational needs.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
* Able to manage a small team and offer guidance and support to other staff members.
* Passionate about providing an inclusive education and making a difference in the lives of students with additional needs.
