The Isle of Wight as an island is experiencing geological events which are becoming more frequent due to climate change which is occurring across the world.
The Isle of Wight Council is committed to supporting the islands community who are affected by landslide and coastal erosion events.
This role will be pivotal in providing advice, support and guidance on behalf of the Local Authority to, council departments, elected members, outside agencies, developers, and the general public on matters related to coastal erosion and landslide events.
This role will involve organising community engagement and providing education and support within the affected communities.
The role will involve research and development of opportunities within the communities affected by these events, to minimise the impact and effects of significant erosion and landslide events.
You will act as the Local Authority’s representative to design and develop future strategy in relation to landslide and land erosion management.
You will be a key team member within the Local Authority that strives for positive outcomes to build a better and more sustainable future for our Island’s residents.
