As a Deputy Manager, you will work alongside the General Manager in the organising, planning and day-to-day operations of the pub. You will be expected to deputise for the General Manager when they are on their days off or on leave, and during these times you will have responsibility for all back of house and front of house operations and are the line of communication between frontline team members and senior management. You will be expected to follow the General Managers best practices, lead by example by driving customer service excellence, and create a positive experience for all our customers.
When deputising you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the pub, working closely with the Head Chef to create an excellent customer dining experience which is in keeping with our customer demographic
Alongside the General Manager, you will lead from the front and work side-by-side with team members to achieve the goals of the company, which are critical to the success of this role
Work alongside the General Manager in recruiting, developing, retaining and recommending promotion of high calibre individuals supervising the performance of each team member
Ensure that the team is productive and that the workflow runs smoothly, you will have to think on your feet when problems arise and come up with innovative solutions that minimise the impact on the team, the business and customer alike
Take ownership of issues and manage them to a successful resolution
Assist the General Manager in creating business plans to support the companys
financial objectives
Have a commercial awareness with an understanding of the market place in which your business operates and be able to nurture this, to be successful in a competitive market
Monitor and control stock levels to generate the optimum yield and achieve budgeted gross profit margins
Knowledge of and compliance to relevant legislation (licensing /health and safety/fire safety/COSHH/local authorities
