As an aspiring teacher, you will work closely with students with SEN, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential. The role will offer invaluable experience and guidance as you work towards a teaching qualification. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with a range of special educational needs. Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other personalised learning strategies. Support students during lessons, helping them to understand and engage with the curriculum. Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. Monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents. Work alongside teachers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students with SEN. Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting positive behaviours and self-esteem. The Ideal Candidate: A passion for working with young people, particularly those with additional learning needs. Previous experience supporting students with SEN (e.g., in a school, care, or voluntary setting) is highly desirable but not essential. A proactive, empathetic, and patient approach to working with students. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. A strong desire to pursue a career in teaching and a commitment to professional development. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) or a keen interest in further developing your skills in the education sector.
