The Role As our Health & Safety Manager, youll play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety and well-being across our manufacturing operations. From shaping policies to driving initiatives, youll ensure compliance with UK standards and empower our team to work smarter and safer every day. What Youll Be Doing Heres a glimpse into your key responsibilities: Policy Leadership : Develop and update health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with UK regulations. Communicate these effectively across multiple platforms. Risk Management : Conduct risk assessments, lead audits, and collaborate with external agencies to maintain our safety standards. Emergency Preparedness : Create and implement response plans, coordinate drills, and manage emergency equipment maintenance. Safety Culture : Promote safety awareness through campaigns, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Lead by example and inspire proactive safety behaviors. Incident Analysis : Investigate incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and develop preventative strategies in partnership with functional teams. Budget Management : Oversee the health and safety budget and ensure training programs are properly resourced. What Youll Bring Were looking for someone who blends expertise with energy and a forward-thinking mindset. Heres what we value: Education & Credentials : A degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. NEBOSH/IOSH certification is a strong plus. Experience : At least 5 years in health and safety management, ideally in a food, pharma, or chemical manufacturing environment. Skills : Analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with excellent communication skills to inspire and influence others. Tools : Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies.
