Job Description
1. Support the head of function in delivering the legal property team objectives aligned to the business strategy.
2. Support the team to deliver performance against targets, key performance indicators, financial outcomes and legal compliance.
3. Advise on freehold/leasehold acquisitions, s.106 agreements, security charging, leasehold portfolio, leases, wayleaves, licences, collective enfranchisement, s.20 consultation and provide general property legal advice in line with strategy, budget and targets, achieving great results.
4. Provide technical and professional leadership and assurance, shaping service delivery and developing internal standards, policies and procedures.
5. Ensure compliance with best practice, legislative and regulatory frameworks.
6. Evaluate, develop and continuously improve ways of working with focus on excellence and value for money. Illustrate learning from service failure and improvements. Demonstrate commercial insight and initiate better ways of doing things.
7. Create, compliment and review policies ensuring compliance with legal obligations and good practice.
8. Provide support to others across the organization, training and coaching colleagues, increasing internal capability and facilitating the delivery of internal services.
9. Develop and manage work plans for enabling service and ensure effective implementation, aligning plans to the strategy timescales.
10. Provide technical and professional leadership with a focus on performance management and continuous improvement.
11. Build and maintain close working relationships with other teams within the business, ensuring effective and timely communication.
The Successful Applicant
* Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive (preferably with conveyancing experience).
* Ideally 2 years PQE in this space however will consider those with less experience.
* Strong experience in land, commercial property, conveyancing, landlord and tenant law.
* High level of computer literacy and ability to present information in a user-friendly manner.
* Demonstrable financial acumen and commercial insight.
