Brook Street is looking for a confident Level 3 qualified trainer and assessor to become a first aid trainer working on a casual basis. This position will be based in and around Leicester, so the ability to commute to Leicester will be necessary for this role.
As a Casual First Aid Trainer, you will be offering essential training to a variety of organisations that will have a real impact on those attending the sessions. As this is a casual role, workload will vary depending on training session demands. You will be offered a guaranteed minimum of 10 sessions throughout the year (with some casual trainers being offered 1 per week already this calendar year!).
The Role:
To deliver and assess a wide range of courses within the geographical region of Leicestershire, e.g., First Aid at Work, Fire Marshal, Mental Health, etc.
Hours of Work:
This role will be predominantly working within business hours between Monday and Friday; however, there may be the occasional evening or weekend work to meet our customers' needs. Any evening or weekend work will be paid at a higher rate.
Pay Rates:
* CPD Courses - £52.50 (Half Day), £105 (Full Day)
* Core Courses - £70 (Half Day), £140 (Full Day)
* Specialist Courses - £77.50 (Half Day), £155 (Full Day)
For any courses offered that are occurring within 72 hours that you choose to accept, there will be a short notice additional payment of £10.50 per half day and £21 per full day.
Minimum Requirements:
* 5 GCSEs C or above including English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Level 3 in First Aid with assessing
* Driving licence and own vehicle (mileage paid)
* Confident and able to work on your own initiative
* Enhanced DBS check will be required
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver training courses and conduct assessments to a professional and consistent standard
* Maintain own subject and professional competence in accordance with organisational and awarding body requirements
* Ensure that all equipment used is fit for purpose, is cleaned and stored in accordance with procedures, and any faults or damage are reported
* Arrive in good time, prepare the training room, liaise with venue contacts, greet learners, and follow the relevant procedures at the training venue, including conducting dynamic risk assessments and prompt collection and return of keys, materials, and equipment where required
