RM Recruit is proud to partner with a highly regarded maintained school in Wolverhampton, seeking a confident and diligent Finance Assistant to join their team on a part-time, temporary basis working 20 hours per week for circa 3 months. This temporary role is based onsite Monday – Friday and offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. Reporting to the Headteacher, you will manage the full transactional finance function, ensuring seamless operational delivery. Responsibilities include: Assist with day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable. Process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely and accurate manner. Reconcile bank statements and maintain financial records. Support the preparation of monthly financial reports. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities. Liaise with team members and external parties to resolve finance-related queries. Ensure compliance with school policies and financial regulations. Person Specification Proven experience in a finance or accounting role. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel. Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude. A qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field is desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will excel in building relationships, balancing independent initiative with teamwork, and managing priorities effectively.
