An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Orthopaedic Therapy team at the Great Western Hospital for a fixed term of 6 months. You will be working in an integrated team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Assistants who provide therapy to all Orthopaedic patients on the Elective and Trauma wards at Great Western Hospital. Experience of working in Orthopaedics is desirable. We would welcome interest from experienced Band 5s who are looking to further their experience or an established band 6 looking to further develop their skills.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Band 6 Orthopaedic Physiotherapist is to provide a skilled level of physiotherapeutic intervention to orthopaedic patients of any age in the hospital. The Band 6 will also carry out non-clinical duties, assist in the training of qualified staff, assistants and students and will contribute to the development of the service.
Job responsibilities
1. To assist with the day-to-day running of the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Team, including prioritisation and delegation of workload.
2. To participate in the Orthopaedic Weekend Service Rota.
3. The staff member may be required to work their contracted hours between 6am to 8pm covering 7 days a week.
4. To maintain a high standard of documentation and accurate problem orientated medical records.
5. To assist with audit and evaluation of record keeping.
6. To undertake the measurement and evaluation of your work and current practices through the use of Evidence Based Practice Projects, audit, outcome measures, and make recommendations for change.
7. To maintain own clinical professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of any new trends and developments and incorporating them as necessary into your work, using reflective practice, and being guided by a current Personal Development Plan.
8. To communicate effectively and work collaboratively with medical, nursing and therapy colleagues to ensure delivery of a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary service.

Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registered
* Clinical Educator for student placements
Experience
* Varied band 5 rotations
* Experience of supervising/training others
* Spinal injuries
* Elderly care/rehab
* Experience of working with NICE guidelines
Knowledge and skills
* Able to communicate sensitively and professionally
* Clinical reasoning skills
* Evidence of prioritisation and time management
* Prioritisation and time management of team and team caseload

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 per annum pro rata
