Role: Fleet Tyre Manager
The Fleet Tyre Manager oversees third-party tyre supplier relationships, maximizing value from all tyre-related activities, controlling costs, and delivering first-class customer service. The role also involves ensuring timely supplier payments and invoicing legitimate recharges back to customers.
Responsibilities
1. Retain tyre suppliers at manufacturer or management level.
2. Maintain and audit a network of approved damage repair agents.
3. Provide monthly performance reports on spend/recharge to the Fleet Director.
4. Educate Fleet Maintenance Centre staff on proper tyre management and cost control.
5. Ensure systems track tyre changes and detect fraud attempts.
6. Minimize VOR downtime during roadside and customer location repairs.
7. Ensure work is performed to AAG standards, with correct labour and parts charges, discounts, and within SLA agreements.
8. Discuss and agree damage costs with customers, ensuring Purchase Orders are in place.
9. Manage used tyre stock for end-of-lease/sales, including spot checks and record keeping.
10. Maintain visibility of tyre carcasses and processing through the network.
11. Implement cost-saving initiatives for AAG and customers.
12. Create and monitor KPIs for tyre suppliers and repair agents.
13. Initiate tender processes for tyre supply in collaboration with Procurement, if required.
14. Recommend and review practices to improve tyre management processes.
