Job summary This post is for 5PA's An opportunity has arisen to join our team at Colchester General Hospital.We are inviting applications for a part time post, Consultant in Neurophysiology.Applicants will have completed CCT or equivalent (CESR) and must be on the Specialist Register. The proposed Timetable is indicative of the work required but is not rigid and will be flexible depending on service needs and interests of the applicant. The job plan will then be reviewed annually. It will cover all aspects of a consultant's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It should provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. In addition, it should include personal objectives, including details of their link to wider service objectives and details of the support required by the consultant to fulfil the job plan and the objectives. Main duties of the job The post holder's duties will be at the Colchester Hospital but their presence may from time to time be required in other parts of the Trust. This post is a replacement of a retired consultant. The post is designed to cover (5 PAs) at Colchester Hospital. The post holder will have the responsibility of providing and developing the full range of Neurophysiological procedures. The post holder will help deliver a modern and efficient Clinical Neurophysiology service at Colchester Hospital. This will include neurophysiological tests used in the investigation of peripheral nerve and muscle disease, electroencephalography, evoked potentials and other neurophysiological tests of the central nervous system. Other responsibilities will include the supervision and training of clinical physiologists in the department, in association with the department clinical manager. There will be a commitment for time off in lieu (such as weekend work).
