Global Veterinary Careers is working with a well-established 24-hour RCVS-accredited small animal hospital in Essex to find a veterinary surgeon with a surgical bias. This hospital is renowned for its high clinical standards, investment in state-of-the-art facilities, and a highly skilled, supportive team. They are now looking for a dedicated vet who thrives in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment and is passionate about delivering gold-standard patient care.
About the Practice & Location:
This purpose-built hospital offers a wide range of first opinion and referral-level services, including emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging (CT/MRI), hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and laser therapy. The team consists of 14 vets, including certificate holders in surgery, medicine, and orthopaedics, with several vets currently pursuing further qualifications. Their highly skilled nursing team includes Schedule 3 and imaging-trained professionals, as well as post-graduate certificate holders.
The practice is well-located in Essex, just 30 minutes by train from London and within easy reach of Southend and Stansted airports. The seaside is also just a 25-minute drive away, offering the perfect balance between city, countryside, and coastal living.
About the Role, Team & Rota Pattern:
You will be joining a multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, clinical excellence, and professional development.
The role offers:
* 4-day working week
* 1 in 4 weekends
* No out-of-hours duties
* Minimal on-call rota (3-4 times a year)
* Part-time applicants are welcome, provided they can commit to working 1 in 4 weekends

To Be Considered:
* Be RCVS registered and eligible to work as a vet in the UK
* Have proven surgical experience, with confidence in managing complex cases

* Have a passion for continuous learning and development
