Job Overview
A unique opportunity has arisen for a professional, resilient, credible, and inspiring nurse to undertake the role of a senior nurse within the Medicine division, covering the South (Grange University Hospital and Royal Gwent Hospital).
The Senior Nurse role will provide strong clinical and professional leadership, whilst being a clearly visible and supportive role model. They will be professionally accountable for the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care, and therefore the successful individual will take a lead in driving forward a positive culture of robust governance and quality improvement.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the current Senior Nurses and will share responsibilities by delivering on the priorities identified in the nursing strategy and annual plan ABUHB.
If you feel you have the relevant experience and aptitude to join the Senior Nurse team, this is a great opportunity for your career progression. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills will be required by an individual who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and well-organised.
The successful candidate will work in close partnership with the multidisciplinary teams and support the ethos of collaborative working, think creatively to improve the patient’s journey, promote the provision of high-quality evidence-based care, and be able to support staff in sometimes challenging environments.
Relevant post-registration clinical and managerial experience is essential, demonstrable at a Band 7 level. Resilience in this challenging and rewarding environment of care will be crucial.
There are exciting and challenging times ahead – the post holder will be expected to deliver on strategic goals with regard to the quality, performance, and financial agendas.
Ability to work between all acute sites within medicine (GUH / RGH / NHH / YYF).
