Looking for an experienced Operations from within the commercial roofing sector to join the team.
Job Specification / Our expectations
Key Responsibilities:
* Management of a small number of high profile projects (1-3). With a high-level oversight of all other roofing projects, making sure that they and our teams are aligned with our values (to be shared separately) and client expectations, from inception to completion.
* Develop and implement efficient programmes/schedules to guarantee timely project delivery.
* Introduce and maintain measures to confirm that all services meet or exceed industry standards - like the use of iAuditor and possibly proforms.
* Analyse workforce capabilities and distribute tasks according to specialisation and expertise.
* Ensure the team’s timely procurement of high-quality materials (in line with supply chain strategy), minimising waste and inefficiency.
* Overseeing the administrator/office manager is maintaining a log of all tools and machinery, scheduling regular maintenance to prevent operational hitches.
* Conduct periodic Personal Development Plans with the team to assess performance to try and identify areas for improvement and recognise high-performing employees.
* From PDP and other discussions, organise regular training sessions to upgrade the team's skills and introduce new industry practices.
* Address grievances and mediate disputes to maintain a harmonious work environment. Internal & External
* Establish open channels of communications where needed to keep clients informed about project status and management decisions.
* Implement systems to gather and analyse client feedback for continuous improvement.
* Offer prompt post-completion support to address any issues or concerns, whilst making sure we finish well.
* Regularly assess operational workflows to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies
* Stay updated with industry trends to integrate the latest operational techniques. Encourage team members to suggest process improvements and reward valuable contributions.
* Take the lead on and make sure the order book is up to date and being refreshed.
* Collaborate with the Pre-construction team to draft detailed project budgets, support where needed on price certainty whilst tendering and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
* Regularly review costs against budgets to prevent overspends
* Feedback sessions whilst reviewing monthly job costings.
* Evaluate the profitability of projects, making adjustments where necessary to ensure optimal returns.
* Stay abreast of local, regional, and national building and safety regulations.
* Ensure team has all project-related documents in order and readily available for inspections or audits.
* Implement and oversee safety procedures, ensuring all staff comply to prevent accidents and liabilities. Interact with independent safety companies.
* Foster strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring reliability and quality.
* Work on (with Pre-Cons team, where needed) favourable terms and conditions while entering into contracts with clients & contractors.
* Oversee the timely delivery of goods and services, ensuring smooth project progress.
* Making sure that the GM is abreast with all relevant and pertinent information.
* Elevate any high-level information needed, to both celebrate success or support any possible liabilities.
* Disseminate any relevant information to the team where needed
